CORN BREAD DRESSING | |
2 c. corn bread, crumbled 2 yeast rolls, crumbled or 2 slices of bread 2 c. turkey broth or chicken seasoned 1/2 c. buttermilk 2 med. onions, quartered 1/4 tsp. baking soda 4 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. butter or turkey fat 1 tbsp. celery seed Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Crumble bread and rolls into bowl. Pour warm broth over and let sit until all bread is softened. Blend milk, onions and soda in blender. Add to crumbs. Stir in eggs, fat and celery seed. Pour into well greased 9 x 12 inch pan and bake until brown, about 1 hour. Serve hot with gibler gravy. Serves 8 to 10. |
