FRENCH SUB 
1 loaf French bread
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. cracker crumbs
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. grated cheese
1/2 c. chopped onion

Cut loaf of French bread in half lengthwise. Mix other ingredients and spread over top of surface. Wrap heavy duty foil around crust side of each half, leaving top uncovered.

Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done (maybe 35 minutes). Garnish with cheese and bake 5 minutes longer. Slice diagonally.
