CRANBERRY CORDIAL 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. cranberries, finely chopped
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. freshly grated orange zest
4 whole cloves
4 whole allspice
1 qt. vodka

Combine ingredients in a large jar, cap tightly and set aside at room temperature for a month. Give it a shake once a week.

At the month's end, strain liquid through a fine strainer and discard pulp. Taste. For more sweetness, boil together 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water for 2 minutes. Cool and stir into cordial. Makes about 1 1/2 quarts. Great for serving after Thanksgiving dinner or to give as gifts at Christmas.
