TAFFY 
1 c. sugar
1 c. Karo syrup
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla or other flavors
Food coloring

Combine sugar, syrup and water in a deep cooking kettle and bring to a rolling boil; boil until it spins a long thread or drop into a cup of cold water and it forms a nearly hard ball. Then pour into butter dishes and cool for a while.

Then butter hands and pull until it is ready. Shape or pull long and finish cooling. Hit with back of knife and should break easily. Add coloring when boiling and flavoring.
