SUSIE'S OLD FASHION FRESH APPLE
CAKE
 
1 c. salad oil (Crisco)
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. pecans or English walnuts
3 c. sour apples, chopped

TOPPING:

1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips

In large bowl mix well oil, eggs and sugar. In small bowl sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and baking powder. Add to above mixture. Stir in nuts and chopped apples. Mix well (not with electric mixer). Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Distribute butterscotch chips on top of cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Cut into squares. Best to let set overnight.
