MERINGUE CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. cake flour or 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
4 beaten egg yolks
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cream butter. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add next 4 ingredients to sifted mixture. Spread in prepared 913 pan.

Beat egg whites, gradually adding sugar until stiff. Spread this meringue over the uncooked batter. Bake at 400 degrees F. 7-10 minutes, then turn down to 325 degrees F. for about 20 minutes.
