COTTON BALLS 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Rice Krispie cereal
1 chopped dates
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine sugar, dates, butter and water. Cook for 10 minutes. Add vanilla, cereal and nuts. Pour into a pan and let cool. Cut into squares. With buttered hands, form into balls and roll in coconut.
