PUDDING SAUCE FOR BREAD PUDDING 
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Combine all dry ingredients together. Add water, slowly and butter. Cook over medium heat until thickened. One teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon lemon flavor (optional). Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce.
