2 sticks of butter
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
5 tbsp. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or almond flavoring
1 c. nuts

Boil together butter and water. Add to sugar, flour and salt. Beat together eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla. Add to first mixture. Bake in greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

FROSTING: Boil butter and milk, add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Pour over cake while hot.
