APPLE-SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE 
10 large sweet potatoes
6 medium cooking apples
1/2 c. King syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
cinnamon
1/2 c. water
butter

Boil sweet potatoes; cool and peel. Butter sides and bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish. Slice sweet potatoes 3/4-inch thick and place on bottom of dish. Peel and slice apples; place layer on potatoes. Pour half the syrup over them; sprinkle with cinnamon. Repeat the potatoes and apples with the apples on top. Pour remainder of syrup over them; sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water.

Bake in 350°F oven until hot and bubbling. Serve hot or room temperature. If you don't have fresh apples, you may substitute apple pie filling and omit the water.
