CLAM CHOWDER 
7 med. to lg. potatoes
2 lg. onions, chopped
1 piece of salt pork
3 cans baby clams
1 can tomato sauce

Peel potatoes and cut into small cubes. Barely cover with water and cook until very tender. Cut salt pork into thin slices. Cook slowly until lightly brown. Add chopped onion, cook until tender. In food processor or blender, put in 1 can clams, 1 can tomato sauce, onion and salt pork (remove hard pieces of pork). Process until all blended (heavy puree). Add to cooked potatoes and liquid. Add two more cans of clams. Mix well. Add more tomato sauce if desired. Season to taste, Refrigerate. Better if made ahead. (Use fresh clams or quahaugs when available.
