FRESH APPLE CAKE 
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. Crisco oil
3 eggs
3 c. chopped fresh apples
2 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine all ingredients together mixing well. Pour into tube pan (greased and floured). Bake at 275 degrees for 10 minutes. Start in cold oven. After 10 minutes bake 1 hour on 350 degrees. Cool.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. Carnation milk

Melt butter, add sugar and milk. Cook for 2 minutes. Cool before putting on cake.
