SAUERKRAUT BALLS | |
8 oz of sausage meat, crumbled 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut, well drained 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs 3 oz of cream cheese, softened 2 teaspoon parsley 1 teaspoon prepared mustard garlic salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 eggs, well beaten 1/4 cup milk 1/4 cup flour 1 cup more bread crumbs Combine sausage and onion in skillet. Cook until meat it is brown and drain. Add sauerkraut and 2 teaspoons bread crumbs. Combine cream cheese, parsley, mustard, dash of garlic salt and pepper. Stir into sauerkraut mixture. Chill and shape into balls and coat with flour. Add milk to beaten egg. Dip balls into egg mixture and roll into bread crumbs. Fry in deep fat to brown, and then bake in 375°F oven for 15-20 minutes. Can be frozen after deep frying and bake when needed. |
