PRUNE BREAD 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 c. + 2 tsp. sugar
4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
4 c. scalded milk
2 c. cooked prunes
14 c. flour

Soften yeast and 2 teaspoons sugar in water. Combine 1 cup sugar, salt and shortening in milk and cool. Add 1/2 of the flour and beat well. Add yeast and prunes. Mix in remaining flour until you have a soft dough. Knead well. Let rise until doubled. Form into loaves and let rise again. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. This is a heavy moist bread, so it will take longer to bake than regular bread.
