NO COOK PICKLES 
16 c. unpeeled cucumbers, sliced thin
2 c. onions, sliced thin
2 tbsp. salt

Let stand 3 hours in bowl. Drain well. Make syrup while cucumbers are standing: 2 c. cider vinegar 1 tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. alum

Stir often to dissolve all sugar. Put drained cucumbers, onions, and salt into container. Pour syrup over all. Cover TIGHTLY and refrigerate. Ready in 2 hours. Keeps 1 year.
