3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. cold water
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. melted, cooled shortening or oil
3 tbsp. vinegar

Mix flour, sugar, soda, salt and cocoa together and put in ungreased 9"x13" pan. Make 3 holes; in the first hole, put the shortening or oil; in the second hole, place the vanilla; in the third hole, put in the vinegar. Pour the cold water over all and mix thoroughly. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
