SOUR DOUGH BREAD 
2 c. sour dough batter
1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in a jigger of water

Stir with a wooden spoon. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out on a floured board; knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until doubled in bulk.

Turn out and knead again. Form loaves, place in greased loaf pan and let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees F. about 30 minutes until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
