WALNUT OR PECAN DROPS 
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sifted confectioner's sugar
2 tbsp. light cream
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat butter, shortening, sugar, cream and vanilla until smooth and fluffy. Stir in sifted flour and salt until well combined. Stir in nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonful 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate, if desired, with additional chopped nuts. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until light-golden. Remove to wire rack; cool. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
