CHOCOLATE SANDWICH BARS 
1 (6 oz.) chocolate morsels
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. peppermint (optional)
1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt morsels with sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons butter; remove from heat. Add extract; set aside.

Cream together 3/4 cup butter and brown sugar. Add egg, beat until light. Mix in flour and oats. Press 2/3 of oat mixture into greased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan; spread chocolate mixture on top. Add nuts to remaining oat mixture; sprinkle over chocolate. Bake 15 to 18 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool thoroughly.
