ERNA'S SHORTBREAD | |
1 c. sifted flour 1/2 c. cornstarch 4 oz. salted butter 1/4 c. extra fine sugar Preheat oven to 335 degrees. Sift both flour and cornstarch before measuring. Cream softened butter and sugar. Sift flour and cornstarch and gradually add to butter and sugar. Cut with cookie cutter into pieces 3/8" thick. Put on cookie sheet and sprinkle with colored sugar. Chill in refrigerator for 15 minutes. Bake for 35 minutes, checking at 30 minutes. HINT: Use your blender to make extra fine sugar, but not too long or you will end up with powdered sugar. |
