1 c. sm. shell macaroni Boiling water 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onions 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, undrained 1 c. sliced celery 1/2 c. ketchup 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Place macaroni in small bowl, cover with boiling water, set aside. While macaroni blanches, saute ground beef and onions together in large saucepan until beef loses redness and onion is transparent, drain fat. Drain macaroni and add to meat mixture along with remaining ingredients and 1/2 cup water. Mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
