HAWAIIAN APPLE PIE 
1/4 c. bread crumbs
4-5 apples, sliced
1 c. crushed pineapple, undrained
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. flour
2/3 c. coconut, shredded
Pastry for 2 crust pie

Place unbaked lower crust in 9 inch pie pan. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Combine apples, pineapple, sugar, cinnamon and flour. Place in pastry lined pan. Cover top of filling with layer of shredded coconut before placing on top crust.

Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25-30 minutes or until apples are tender.

PIE CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
2 tbsp. ice cold water

Sift flour and salt together. Cut shortening into the flour. Work dough with fingers, gradually adding water until dough holds together. Form into ball and roll to desired size.
