STRAWBERRY JAM 
3 c. sugar
1 qt. berries

Add 1 cup sugar to 1 quart washed and mashed fruit. Bring to a rolling boil. Boil 2 minutes. Then add 2 cups of sugar and boil 3 minutes (full rolling boil that can't be stirred down). Remove from heat, add butter the size of a pea, stir to blend. Skim off foam and put in jars and seal.
