FRENCH ONION RINGS | |
3/4 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 2 tbsp. oil 1 egg 3 med. onions 1 qt. oil for deep frying Sift flour with salt into bowl. Add milk, 2 tablespoons oil and egg. Beat until smooth. Cut onion into rings. Dip each ring into the batter. Drain excess batter over bowl. Meanwhile, place oil into electric skillet. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Drop a few rings at a time into the heated oil. Do not crowd rings. Fry 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally. Drain on absorbent paper. Makes 6 servings. |
