MAMA'S BEEF CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 can mushroom soup
1 can chicken soup
1/2 c. diced celery
1/4 c. diced green pepper
1 sm. can pimentos
1 can water chestnuts
1 sm. onion
1/2 tsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 sm. can mushrooms
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. slivered almonds for topping

Brown beef and saute onions. Add all remaining ingredients except almonds. Turn into casserole and cover with almonds. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours (325 degrees for a glass casserole).
