MEXICAN CORN BREAD 
1 c. corn meal
2/3 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cream style corn
2 eggs
1 sm. grated onion
1 (4 oz.) can chopped hot green chilies
1 c. grated cheese
1 tbsp. bacon grease

Mix together corn meal, salt, soda, and grated cheese. Add eggs, corn, onion, chilies, and buttermilk. Mix well. Melt grease in heavy iron skillet. Pour in batter and bake for 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees.
