1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup

In bowl, stir together flour, sugar, soda and salt. Cut in shortening and 1/2 cup peanut butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in syrup and milk.

Shape into an 8 inch roll about 2 inches in diameter. Chill well. Slice 1/8 inch thick. Place half the slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Spread each slice with 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter. Cover with remaining slices; seal edges with tines of fork.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes; cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
