PUMPKIN CHESS PIE 
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
2 lbs. flour
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. milk
2 c. pumpkin
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Blend sugar, butter and flour until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla, pumpkin and spices, beating well. Add sour cream and milk last. (1 1/2 cups milk or buttermilk may be used instead of sour cream and milk.) Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 2 pies.
