HOLIDAY TRIFLE 
1/4 c. brandy
1 sponge cake frozen
1 (18 oz.) jar jam or jelly, your choice
1 recipe vanilla filling
Fruit & cool chip for garnish
Vanilla filling
1 lg. box vanilla pudding, milk or coffee cream for richer flavor
1/2 pt. heavy cream, whipped
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cut cake into thirds lengthwise. Divide jelly among the 3 layers as best you can. Spread only one side of each layer all the way to the edges. Place 1st layer into large deep bowl. Sprinkle 1/3 brandy over the layer, spoon 1/3 of vanilla filling over; repeat with other 2 layers of cake. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Garnish with fruit and Cool Whip when ready to serve.

Filling - prepare pudding for pie. When pudding is set add the whipped cream and vanilla. Cover and set aside until you are ready to assemble the trifle.
