SALLY LUNN - BATTER BREAD 
3 1/2-4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, divided
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. softened butter
3 eggs, room temperature

Thoroughly mix 1 1/4 cups flour, the sugar, salt, and undissolved yeast in a large bowl. Combine milk, water and butter in a saucepan - heat over low heat until liquids are warm. Add to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes (medium speed) with electric mixer. Add eggs and 1 cup flour to make a thick batter. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes, then stir in enough flour to make a stiff batter.

COVER - let rise 1 hour. Stir batter down and beat well. Then place into a greased 9 inch tube pan or Bundt pan. COVER - let rise 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes, remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
