TAKES LONGER BANANA BREAD | |
1 c. sugar 1/3 c. butter 4 egg whites 2 c. mashed ripe bananas (4 med.) 1/3 c. water 1 c. whole wheat flour 2/3 c. white all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. chopped nuts Grease bottom of loaf pan 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 or 9 x 5 inches. Mix sugar and butter. Stir in egg whites until blended. Add bananas and water. Beat 30 seconds. Stir in remaining ingredients just until moistened. Pour into pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 8 1/2 inch loaf pan takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. 9 inch loaf pan will bake in 55 to 60 minutes. Cool completely before slicing. One slice is about 223 calories. The man who makes no mistakes - does not usually make anything. |
