1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. honey
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, shortening, egg and honey. Stir in remaining ingredients. Chill dough. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out dough thick, cut with shaped cutters. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. If desired, ice with powdered sugar icing.
