FRENCH GRATIN POTATOES 
1 1/2 lbs. new potatoes, scrubbed or peeled
1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. beef or chicken broth

Cut potatoes in thin slices. Spread 1/3 evenly in shallow 1 1/2 quart casserole; sprinkle with salt, pepper and 1/4 cup shredded cheese. Cover with another 1/3 potato slices; sprinkle with salt, pepper and shredded cheese. Top evenly with the remaining potato slices, salt, pepper, pinch of nutmeg and remaining cheese.
