GUMDROP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. gumdrops, cut in sm. pieces

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars, add egg and vanilla, beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add oats, coconut and gumdrops. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
