NORWEGIAN APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
2 eggs, room temp.
1 tsp. baking powder
2-4 tart, sour apples

Using mixer, combine butter, sugar, baking powder and flour until smooth. Mix in 1 egg at a time, until smooth. Put in greased 8"x8" or 9" round pan. Peel apples, cut into sections, stick deeply into batter. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipping cream. Freezes well after baked. Pears may be used instead of apples.
