IRISH RAISIN SODA BREAD 
4 c. white flour
1 c. raisins
1/4 lb. melted butter
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg

Mix dry ingredients together; sift. Add raisins. Make well in center. Add buttermilk. Mix egg and butter together and add. Stir and work with hands to make sure all is mixed. Pat into round loaf and put in greased 9" or 10" heavy skillet or cast iron fry pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
