1 3/4 c. all purpose flour 1 1/2 c. quick cooking or old fashioned Quaker Oats 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1 (12 1/4 oz.) jar or caramel ice cream topping Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, oats, brown sugar and salt. Add the melted butter, mixing until crumbly. Reserve 3/4 cup for topping and press the remaining mixture in bottom of greased and floured 9"x13" pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce heat to 350 degrees. Sprinkle chocolate pieces and nuts over the partially baked base. Combine caramel topping and the remaining 1/4 cup flour. Drizzle over the chocolate and nuts. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over caramel mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool thoroughly. Cut into bars. |
