COUNTRY CHICKEN WITH PEACHES | |
1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 3 lbs. frying chicken pieces (with skin and fat removed) 2 tbsp. vegetable, canola or olive oil 1 can (16 oz.) cling peach halves in fruit juice 1/2 c. Kikkoman Lite Teriyaki Sauce Combine flour and garlic powder; coat chicken thoroughly with mixture. Brown chicken on all sides in hot oil in Dutch oven or large skillet over medium heat. Drain off fat. Drain peaches, reserve 1/2 cup juice. Combine juice with teriyaki sauce and 1/4 cup water; pour over chicken. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, 30 minutes. Turn chicken pieces over. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes longer, or until chicken is tender. Arrange peaches around chicken; heat through. Remove chicken and peaches to serving platter. Skim off excess fat (if removed prior to cooking, this step is avoided) from pan juices and serve with chicken and peaches. Makes 4 to 6 servings. |
