CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE | |
1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 6 eggs 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sour cream 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla extract Cream butter, gradually add sugar and brown sugar, beating well at medium speed of electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine soda and sour cream. Sift together flour, cocoa and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix just until well blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pan. Let cool completely on wire rack. Sift powdered sugar over top of cake if desired. |
