WHOLE - WHEAT BROWNIES 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream the above together. Stir in 3/4 cup whole-wheat flour (preferably pastry flour, but all-purpose whole wheat will do). Spread in a greased 8-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out nearly clean.

Note: In some ovens these brownies will be done in 20-25 minutes, so you may want to check them sooner.
