FESTIVE FROSTED POPCORN
2 1/2 qts. plain popped corn (no salt or butter)
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup water
food coloring
3 tbsp. powdered sugar

Put popped corn in a large, lightly buttered bowl. Combine granulated sugar & water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil until candy thermometer registers 238°F (medium soft ball stage in cold water).

Add a few drops of coloring (more or less) toward the end of cooking. Pour mixture evenly over corn, stirring gently. Then, sprinkle at once with powdered sugar while continuing to stir and the kernels separate.

Store in an air-tight container.

I just made this and I'm taking it to a baby shower. I added blue food coloring. And I didn't have a candy thermometer, but I probably let it boil for maybe 8 min, and just kept stirring and kept my eye on it. It was really fast and easy came out tasty and cute!!! I will definitely made this again!
