2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. lard
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
4 to 6 c. flour

Cream sugar, eggs, lard. Sift baking soda, baking powder and salt with 4 cups flour. Mix together to a soft dough adding more flour as needed. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 300 degrees till done. This is a not too rich cookie that holds the shape it's cut in!
