2 c. unsweetened apples
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vinegar
4 eggs
3 c. sugar
1 c. jam
1 c. butter and lard mixture
4 tsp. cinnamon
4 tsp. cloves
4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. allspice
4 c. flour (mix in 2 tbsp. cocoa)

Cream shortening, sugar, soda, flour and spices. Add other ingredients and bake at 350 degrees.
