LEMON BREAD | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar Grated rind of 1 lemon 1 1/2 c. sifted flour Pinch salt 1 tsp. baking powder 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. milk GLAZE: Juice of 1 or more lemons 1/4 c. powdered sugar Combine shortening, sugar, grated rind, flour, salt, baking powder, eggs and milk. Pour into sprayed or greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Mix juice of 1 lemon or more if desired with 1/4 cup powdered sugar. Spoon over loaf when hot from oven. |
