JOHN'S NO FAIL MAYONNAISE 
1 egg
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
3 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/4 c. canola oil
4 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water

Put first 7 ingredients into a bowl. Mix water and cornstarch in a saucepan and cook over low heat. When that mixture becomes smooth and clear add it to the other ingredients and beat hard until mixture is smooth and thick. Continued beating is the secret. Let it cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
