FRESH CRANBERRY CAKE 
GROUP I:

1 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

GROUP II:

3/4 c. salad oil
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk

GROUP III:

1 c. chopped dates
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. fresh raw cranberries
Grated rind of 2 oranges

Cranberries should be whole and raw, washed and dried.

Mix or sift together Group I. In another bowl mix Group II. Add 2 mixtures together, then add Group III. Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees.

While cake is baking, mix juice from 2 oranges with 1/2 cup sugar. Bring to boil and pour over cake when done. Punch holes with knife so mixture can seep into cake.
