OYSTER CASSEROLE | |
4 c. cooked noodles 1 qt. oysters 1 lb. yellow American cheese (18 slices) 1 med. onion, sliced 1/8 inch thick Flour, salt, pepper 1 qt. tomatoes, drain approximately 5 minutes In 4 quart casserole, put 2 cups noodles - spread evenly and loosely with fork. Cover noodles with 6 slices of cheese. Cover cheese with oysters (take oysters from container with fork). A little juice is needed and enough comes from oyster when handled with fork. Cover oysters with liberal layer of flour. Salt and pepper to taste. Add layer of onion rings. Start from above to onion layer. Then add 6 slices of cheese. Cover cheese with tomatoes. Top with a few onion rings. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. |
