CANDIED YAMS 
1/2 lemon
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1 1/2 doz. sm. yams
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white syrup

Cook yams whole until tender, then peel. Bring the remaining ingredients to a boil and pour over cooked yams. Cook in oven 25 to 30 minutes, turning yams over once at 350 degrees.
