CANDIED YAMS 
2 lbs. sweet potatoes
1 tsp. salt
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. corn syrup
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Cut yams in quarters, boil with lemon juice 20 or 30 minutes until tender. Put yams in baking dish after you pour off water. Cover with other ingredients and bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until done.
