AUTUMN APPLE WALNUT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1 c. pared, diced apple
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add shortening, egg and milk. Stir until blended and fold in apples and walnuts. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for about 30 minutes.
